Hashtag Project

From Heritage to Hashtag (HASHT-AG) is an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange project that brings together young people and youth workers.

About

From Heritage to Hashtag (HASHT-AG) is an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange project that brings together young people and youth workers from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean to explore cultural identity, creativity, and intercultural dialogue through digital tools and artificial intelligence.

Youth

The project creates inclusive virtual spaces where participants can share stories, reinterpret cultural heritage, and collaborate across borders using accessible technologies. HASHT-AG is coordinated by TIA Formazione Internazionale APS and involves partners from Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.

By combining cultural expression with digital creativity, the project supports young people—especially those with fewer opportunities—in developing digital, social, and intercultural skills that are increasingly essential in today’s connected world.

Ancient history

Concept

HASHT-AG is built on a simple idea: digital technologies, including AI, can become tools for cultural storytelling, reflection, and connection rather than just consumption.

Through guided virtual exchanges, creative labs, and small-group collaboration, young people use simple digital tools (such as visual platforms, text-based AI, and creative templates) to remix memories, imagine future cultural expressions, and reflect on identity in a digital age.

The methodology combines:

Non-formal Education
Intercultural Dialogue
Creative Co-Creation
Guided Reflection and Learning Recognition

Youth workers are trained to facilitate safe, inclusive, and meaningful digital exchanges, ensuring sustainability beyond the project’s duration.

Results

The project will deliver tangible and reusable results, including:

Online Virtual Exchange Platform

The project will develop a multilingual online platform designed to host virtual exchanges, creative activities, and shared content. The platform will provide a safe and accessible digital space where young people and youth workers can meet, collaborate, and reflect across borders.

AI-Supported Cultural Storytelling Tools

HASHT-AG will produce a set of easy-to-use templates and activity guides that support cultural storytelling through AI and digital tools. These resources will help participants remix memories, explore heritage, and imagine future cultural expressions in a creative and responsible way.

Youth Worker Training Resources

A dedicated starter kit for youth workers will be developed, including short training modules, facilitation guidelines, and practical examples. These materials will strengthen the capacity of youth workers to lead inclusive, AI-supported non-formal education activities.

Youth-Led Digital Cultural Outputs

Young participants will co-create at least 25 digital cultural artefacts, such as stories, visuals, short videos, memes, or AI-generated content. These outputs will reflect personal and collective perspectives on culture, identity, and digital life.

Virtual Exhibitions and Public Showcases

The project will organise virtual exhibitions to showcase the creative outputs produced by participants. These online events will make the results visible to a wider audience, encouraging dialogue and exchange beyond the project partnership.

Learning Reflection and Recognition Tools

HASHT-AG will include structured reflection tools, such as the “My Learning Path” and Youthpass certificates, to support recognition of learning outcomes. These tools will help participants document skills development, intercultural learning, and digital competencies.

Open Access and Reusability

All project deliverables will be made available as open educational resources under open licences. This ensures that youth organisations, educators, and institutions can reuse, adapt, and replicate the tools and methods developed by HASHT-AG.

History

Dissemination & Visibility

HASHT-AG adopts a multi-level communication strategy aimed at participants, youth organisations, educators, and policy stakeholders.

Communication activities include:

  • Project website and digital platform
  • Social media storytelling and youth-generated content
  • Online exhibitions and public virtual events
  • Engagement of local networks and multiplier organisations

Visibility follows Erasmus+ guidelines, ensuring transparency, accessibility, and long-term impact beyond the project lifetime.

Partners

The partnership brings together universities, youth organisations, and civil society actors from: Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.

This diversity ensures a balanced combination of academic expertise, grassroots youth work, and intercultural perspectives, strengthening the Euro-Mediterranean dimension of the project.
